Extracurricular activities for CS students

EECS and CS may be one of the most competitive major, transferring to UCB or UCLA. Having a high GPA is definitely not enough to transfer into a top tier. Community college student can join the following contest to boost their experience.


1) Join hackathon—an event in which a large number of people meet to engage in collaborative computer programming. Individuals can find hackathon-events in Major League Hacking (MLH) website https://mlh.io The official collegiate hackathon league.


2) Join competitive programming contest— a mind sport, usually held over the Internet or a local network, involving participants trying to program according to provided specifications. CodeChef https://www.codechef.com/ is a famous website for competitive programming.
