Host:

John Russo is a professor at Irvine Valley College in the School of Business Sciences and is the faculty lead in the Entrepreneurship Program. He teaches a variety of Entrepreneurship and Business Management classes. John is also the faculty advisor for the IVC Business Leaders Society club. His relationships with the OC entrepreneurial community have created partnerships where IVC students have acquired internships, participated in business pitch competitions, and have had the opportunity to network with business leaders and startups. John coordinates an annual IVC Idea Pitch Competition and the Young Entrepreneurs Summer Workshop. He continually promotes the importance of learning and acquiring an entrepreneurial mindset.

John also has more than 20 years of sales, management, and marketing experience in a variety of industries such as wireless technology, advertising, mortgage lending, and consumer and packaged good. As an entrepreneur and business owner in the food industry, he successfully ran his own restaurant franchise and has a good understanding of business ownership and entrepreneurial opportunities. He has an A.A. in Business Administration from Santa Ana College, a B.S. in Marketing from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and an MBA from Cal State Dominguez Hills and is a member of NACCE (National Association of Community College Entrepreneurs).
